Crispy roasted mushrooms are so good all by themselves and fabulous tossed in just about anything from oatmeal to salads to pasta.

There is no better mushroom memory for me than walking out my front door in the woods of Indiana and harvesting wild morels. We had a reliable patch in a little gully and it was heaven on earth to harvest those beauties, give them a little swish in water and sauté them in nothing but good Irish butter. Add a glass of champagne and It’s mushroom romance as it should be.

I used to hate mushrooms when I was little! Now I adore them in all forms but most often, sauteed in butter and garlic and wine, maybe a little fresh thyme. Use them on toast, in pasta, scrambled eggs…

On pizza! I don’t cook very much with mushrooms at home, but they are so good on veggie-laden pizzas!

  16. I am new to using mushrooms but love how easy they are to cook with.

Thank you for the opportunity to win the gift certificate to Whole Foods!

  17. I have always loved mushrooms since I was a child. My favorite dish featuring them is something my mother used to make, Russian Pie. It is a from-scratch pie crust made with cream cheese, filled with layers of cabbage, mushrooms, onions, sliced hard-boiled eggs and more cream cheese.
