I don’t have a mom anymore, and I’m not a mom, but I think of my mom and her love of cooking. She taught me so much about how to cook, and I want to make a tasty sweet potato casserole!

I won’t be doing anything for mother’s day this year, as my mother passed away last year. However, my sister-in-law is an amazing mother, and I probably should make her some cookies!

I was thinking of making chocolate cookies for Mother’s Day. Simple, I know, but this way, we’re more flexible on when I can get them to her (rather than having to be there at breakfast time or some specific other time, since we’re both busy, and that’s not as practical for us).

Mom is 95 now. Doesn’t cook any more. I am learning to turn burn into crust. Looking towards perfection.
