This honey butter recipe is delicious on cornbread, dinner rolls, muffins, and more! With just 3 ingredients, it's creamy, flavorful, and easy to make.
Where has honey butter been all my life?! It’s light and fluffy, smooth and creamy, and filled with sweet, rich flavor. And it’s not just delicious – it’s easy to make, too! You only need 3 ingredients, 5 minutes, and some basic kitchen equipment to whip up this recipe. What are you waiting for?
How to Make Honey Butter
This recipe is SO darn simple to make. It starts with 3 basic ingredients:
- unsalted butter,
- honey,
- and sea salt.
Let the butter come to room temperature before proceeding with the recipe.
Many honey butter recipes ask you to use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the butter, but I find that it gets plenty light and fluffy when I mix it together by hand.
Just place the softened butter in a small bowl, add the honey and salt…
…and use a spatula to mix until combined. So easy!
Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. I recommend bringing it to room temperature before serving so that it becomes soft and spreadable. Enjoy!
Honey Butter Serving Suggestions
For the last few weeks, I’ve been slathering this honey butter on everything…and by everything, I really mean the jalapeño cornbread that I’ve been making on repeat. If you’re looking for a way to use your butter, I recommend you start there. The spicy cornbread and the sweet spread are a match made in heaven! Don’t like spicy food? The butter would be great on regular cornbread too.
Here are a few more ideas for using your homemade honey butter:
- Spread it on homemade dinner rolls or fresh bread.
- Add a pat to a baked sweet potato.
- Slather it onto corn on the cob.
- Dot it onto pumpkin muffins, blueberry muffins, pumpkin bread, or banana bread.
- Or serve it on waffles, pancakes, or French toast.
How do you like to use this smooth and creamy spread? Let me know in the comments!
