This fig, feta & mint crostini is a delicious healthy snack or party appetizer! With just 7 ingredients, it's easy to make. Vegan option included.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like figs – they’re so sweet and unassuming – but I avoided them for years due to my childhood dislike of Fig Newtons. I was just never a fan of that packaged fig flavor. Later, I came to realize (of course!) that fresh figs are amazing. They’re in season now, and their season is short, so you should go find some.
When I have fresh figs, they only seem to last a day (maybe two) so I usually make something really simple with them. Figs, feta, and mint are a delicious combination, so I love them in these little sweet & savory crostini bites!
Fig, Feta & Mint Crostini
- 1 small baguette, sliced into about 16 pieces, toasted
- 8 fresh figs
- 1 cup ricotta cheese or vegan sun "cheese"
- 30 small mint leaves
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
- Sea salt, to taste
- Assemble each crostini with a spread of ricotta and a bit of lemon zest, if using. Sprinkle with feta and place mint and figs on top. Top with more feta and a pinch of salt.

It’s really cool how this appetizer looks fancy yet it’s so easy to make – aside of course from the fact that figs are amazing.
Thumbs up for a really simple but perfect flavour combination!
These are perfect. If I would still have some figs on hand this would be the way I would use them, I guess I have to wait for next years season.
I love how elemental this dish is. In my dream life I’d have a fig tree right outside my door so I could always eat my fill. Instead I have to buy the expensive imports (and eat fig newtons, because I love them).
Ha, a fig tree right outside my door would be amazing!
Yum! Figs are divine!

This looks delicious! Where could I find fresh figs? I’ve looked everywhere I can think of…
depends on where you live – I see them at the farmers market occasionally but their season is short so I grab them when I see them.
WOW – what a gorgeous app! I have yet to make anything with figs this season so I’m psyched to try these out 🙂
Yes please! These crostini sound wonderful for a quick snack with a glass of wine. Figs and cheese are such a great match!
LOVE this post and LOVE LOVE the new site design! Just gorgeous!
thanks Becky!!
I’m glad that you managed to get over your initial wariness of figs. This mix of flavours, textures, and colours looks delightful!
I love this simple combination. You’re absolutely right, figs keep at their ripest for only the blink of an eye, so I usually slice them on breakfast porridge or ricotta toast… But this is another great way to have it. Thanks for the inspiration!
how yummy! I love figs and this looks like the perfect snack or party appetizer!
So simple and tasty looking. Figs are the prettiest.
