This year, I have no New Year’s resolutions… (I made a few last year that I still haven’t gotten around to).
I say… lets not be healthy because it’s January, let’s be healthy because it tastes good. Soups always steal the show in the wintertime (rightfully so), but lets not count out salads… especially vibrant, hearty ones full of interesting colors and textures. Here are a few from around the web that have inspired me lately. Check out my Winter Salads board to see more.
Happy Salad-ing!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old
daughter and saqid “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
Hi! I wanted to say how inspiring your blog is for me and my friends. We live in Austin as well and are self proclaimed ‘foodies’. We all love your recipes and the way you communicate your love for the ingredients. Stay classy!
These salads look amazing!! Love me some Winter salad goodness.
Just wish I could get my hands of a few pomegranites, I’ve seen SO many yummy recipes with them lately.
“…let’s be healthy because it tastes good” – so true.
Love what you are saying about health. Great thoughts! Thanks!
Agreed! Eating healthy makes me feel better, gives me more energy etc. etc. And your photos are gorgeous too.
I love that! Let’s be healthy because it tastes good 🙂 Salads don’t have to be boring or sad. They have the potential to be a delicious experience!
Woah! Love myself a winter a salad! Your pinterest board is great too – thanks for sharing 🙂
Amen, sister. It just tastes good to be healthy. And by healthy, I mean mowing as many seasonal vegetables as I can. And your salad collection looks ahhhhmazing. Following 🙂
