Ahh, Valentines Day… such a loved and hated holiday, right? It’s one of my personal favorites because it’s the one night a year Jack cooks and I don’t lift a finger. (Or, at least, I try – admittedly, it’s hard to sit back and keep my “suggestions” to myself).
I have no clue what he’ll be making this year and I’m sure he doesn’t yet either… but I thought I’d put a little list together in case you needed some early inspiration to forward on to your better half.
recipes pictured above:
Roasted Tomato Pasta
Coffee Cake Muffins / Vegan French Toast
Strawberry Balsamic Crostini / Minty Pomegranate Spritzer
Roasted Cauliflower & Leek Soup / Rosemary Lemon Pasta
Chocolate Molten Cakes / Coconut Mint Ice Cream
Wow!!!!!!! What a super awesome list you have compiled!!!! I especially fell in love with the dessert ideas! They truly couldn’t get more decadent! <3 Yumm!
Saw that gorgeous muffin tray on your instagram and decided I had to come over. Have loved every one of your beautiful photos on Instagram, and glad it led me to your equally beautiful blog. Good stuff, and some great ideas for Valentine’s day. Now to find the guy to cook these all up for … 😉 Keep up the wonderful work lovely x
Lovely roundup! Can’t wait to get cooking!
Great selection. Beautiful pictures!
These look delicious, and I’ve definitely gotta try that vegan french toast!
Definitely making the drink + the chocolate cake for valentine’s day – thank you for these recipes! Question about the cake – is that 1 cup (so 2 sticks) butter plus an additional 6 tablespoons? Just want to make sure I’m clear – thanks!
Hi Jessica, yep, it’s a lot of butter! (non-dairy earth balance subs in just fine)… Definitely a “sometimes food” sort of treat :). Also the recipe is written for 12 servings. (we usually bake 2, and reserve the batter for the next couple of nights).
Fantastic – thanks so much!
oh I meant to write – we usually make a half recipe… then there’s 2 servings for one night, and 4 reserved (in batter) for later… We make all 12 if we have company 🙂
sorry I saw one vegan recipe and thought they were all vegan!
Hi Erin… sorry that one’s not vegan (we’ve tried it without eggs, haven’t gotten it to work)… here are some chocolate cupcakes that are vegan, they’re not molten inside, but they’re tasty nonetheless! : http://www.loveandlemons.com/2013/01/09/chocolate-cupcakes-avocado-frosting-vegan/
Vegan molten chocolate cake? I’m in!
Oh my gosh, I don’t even know where to start with these – they’re all so beautiful! I’m not normally one to celebrate Valentine’s Day but you’ve just inspired me to get a little fancy lol!
ha! happy to inspire 🙂
yum! the pasta and french toast look so good, i have to make ’em as soon as possible!
xo, cheyenne
thanks Cheyenne! Let me know if you give them a try 🙂
Ooooh how wonderful do all these dishes look. I don’t have that special someone in my life yet but if I did I’d be requesting vegan french toast in bed 🙂
I’m spending Valentine’s with a best friend instead.
Hi Emma, ha, well my husband has yet to ever bring me breakfast in bed… some of my favorite valentines days were spent with best friends, nothing wrong with that! 🙂 BFF’s forever…
That pasta looks amazing. Thank you for this!
thanks Jenni! A favorite for sure…
Everything here looks AMAZING!
thanks Chelsea!
Oh, those deserts! DIVINE!
Valentines is the day after my birthday, so it easy to forget about it – but maybe this year I’ll make a special effort 🙂
happy (early) birthday!
May I ask where the white plates with red border are from? I’ve been looking for something simple like that with a little pop of color!
Hi Hollyanne, they’re from Canvas, here’s the link! http://canvashomestore.com/collections/plates/products/abbesses-handmade-plates-red
These are so great for Valentine’s Day! I especially love your breakfast ideas!
